Sugar factory “Donji Srem” Pećinci is located in South Srem, 1.5km south from Pećinci. It is situated 45km away from Belgrade. The factory construction was launched in 1976, and the first sugar beet processing campaign was implemented in 1979, when 268,000t of sugar beet were processed and 32,436t of sugar produced. Until 1991, sugar beet processing and sugar production had a tendency of growth, but in the following ten years, they gradually decreased.

The factory was privatised in October 2002, when it became a member of MK Group. The sugar production reached 23,619t in the campaign at that time.

Today this factory has the highest daily processing capacity and is one of the most sophisticated factories in its sector in the region. 8,000t of sugar beet are processed daily in Pećinci, which equals one-fifth of the annual sugar beet yield in Serbia. This sugar factory processes around 700,000t of sugar beet and produces nearly 100,000t of sugar annually.

In addition, the factory also has around 43,000t storing capacities.
