Kraljevo, 5 December 2019 – As the festive season approaches, MK Group and its Vice President, Aleksandar Kostić, have decided for the seventh year in a row to present the residents of the Youth Community at SOS Children’s Village in Kraljevo with New Year’s gifts.
“MK Group is traditionally taking care of the residents of the Youth Community through various programs, all with the aim of providing them with better and improved living conditions. This is just one of the socially responsible activities carried out by MK Group. In the last 5 years, we have donated more than 4 million eur in over 500 socially responsible activities, confirming that we care about all the local communities in which we operate,” said Aleksandra Stojanović, Corporate Affairs Director at MK Group. She recalled that the Company has built the Youth House at the SOS Children’s Village in Kraljevo seven years ago, and thus permanently provided more humane conditions for teenagers to grow up.“
So far, more than 50 girls and boys without parental care have grown up in the House and currently there are 12 high school students and as many students. In addition to the construction of a 340 square meter Youth House, MK Group is constantly caring for young people and therefore it has also implemented the Digital Literacy project in order to involve the SOS Children’s Village teens more actively in social life and help them choose their future profession.
“I would like to thank the Kostić family and MK Group for providing help to young people without parental care for years and for investing more than EUR 350,000 so far through providing various types of help, such as winter holidays in Kopaonik, ski equipment and ski school, sports equipment, educational workshops , IT equipment and technology and many more. Every gesture and donation greatly facilitates our work and gives these young people hope that they are not alone on the path to growing up” said Vesna Mraković Jokanovic, National Director of the SOS Foundation Children’s Village Serbia.
MK Group continuously strives to create better living conditions for development of children and young people through its socially responsible activities. F+For the past 10 years now, in addition to providing various forms of help for young people from the SOS Children’s Village Kraljevo, the Company has been providing winter holidays for the best students from Kosovo and Metohija and and in the previous year, it has provided humanitarian support for the Children’s Hospital in Novi Sad in the humanitarian action “Magnet for Love”.
